What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxBinnenhof, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxBinnenhof events, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
How to get involved?
TEDxBinnenhof is a not-for-profit public-private partnership. Our events would not be possible without the support of our amazing volunteers, performers, partners, speakers and of course, the attendees. This year’s event will take place on March 31st in the Knight’s Hall in The Hague and will revolve around ‘Ideas from Europe’. Our speakers have been chosen, invitations have been sent out, but if you’d like to get involved we do of course always welcome volunteers! Do drop us a line, and we’ll see if we can place you.
From social innovators to educators, to professionals, scientists, engineers or doctors, TEDx speakers usually have one thing in common; passion in their field of expertise, a passion that transcends and inspires. For TEDxBinnenhof 2016, we auditioned innovators from 25 European member states and selected the 10 very best ‘Ideas from Europe’ to grace the famous red circle carpet and inspire us. Find out more about our amazing line-up here. Additionally, one wildcard is reserved for an 11th speaker. Who that will be is up to you! Vote here.
