Donate your mind… we need your ideas!
We asked Jerre Lubberts of World of Minds what they are going to do with their ‘Connection of Minds Idea Donation Center’ during TEDxBinnenhof. He answered; “Innovation is not a one way street. It is not about just sitting in the Ridderzaal and receiving inspiring ideas and not being able to react or build upon them.
We at World of Minds love ideas worth sharing and doing. Everything that is ‘wo-man made’ once started as an idea. What use are ideas that stay in our minds? We need to present, discuss, enrich, sell and often re-think our idea’s in order to be able to make them work. In Dutch we like to say ‘je kunt meer als je denkt’. Good ideas put into practise are in other words manifested imagination. Ideas at work! The way to go is to visualize them preferable on a large scale so the process of making them better (Wisdom of Crowds) and getting people on board to make them ‘work’ (Crowd Sourcing) will be facilitated. World of Minds is doing just this in many large organisations using in and outside resources to 1) be able to react faster to change (new idea’s) than competitors and 2) implement changes (new idea’s) in the organisation faster than thought possible.
One of our instruments is livemindmapping, another one is using a Connection of Minds Idea Donation Center. We will set up two touch screens near the Ridderzaal with a ‘Idea Worth Sharing & Doing Mind Map’ in the cloud during TEDxBinnenhof. All TED fans present at TEDxBinnenhof as well as anyone else with an internet connection will be able to ‘leave’ their idea’s in the Mind Map. The visitors by just typing in their ‘imagination’ in the mind map all other TED fans by sending a tweet (see this example). So when you become inspired and want to help ‘manifest’ the speaker’s or your own imagination please visit the Connection of Minds Idea Donation Center during the breaks or send your tweet.
